Bill O’Brien, Doug Marrone share bond beyond football – AL.com

The wives of the two coaches expected to join Alabama’s staff were college roommates.

While the school has not officially announced either hire, Alabama will likely have two former NFL head coaches on its staff this season: Bill OBrien as offensive coordinator, and Doug Marrone as offensive line coach.
It is the first time the two coaches will be on the same staff since 1999, when they served together under George OLeary at Georgia Tech — OBrien as running backs coach and Marrone in charge of the offensive line.
The link between OBrien and Marrone goes much deeper than that, however.
